Why Breckenridge Colorado is Different

Breckenridge ColoradoFounded as a mining town, Breckenridge has more than 250 building on the National Historic Register. Geographically, the resort and town blend together seamlessly. Most accommodations are a short walk to Main Street and you can even ski from the summit of the resort to a bus stop in town. How’s that for convenience? Breck’s downtown has two scenes: touristy and towny. The number of t-shirt and souvenir shops is endless, as is the list of eateries. Yet, with a one or two block walk off of Main Street, you can find bars, restaurants, and hangouts frequented mostly by locals.

But you can still find great deals near the hill; you just have to know where and when to book. Holiday periods are significantly more expensive than early or late ski season. However, Christmas in Breckenridge is magical and well worth the prices if your budget allows.
